The Rescue Costs No One Sees
Every rescue comes with expenses — some predictable, some caused by wildlife, and some caused by humans who apparently majored in “Crimes That Were Never Going to Work.”
Our cost list includes:
• Gas (A tracking/rescue case can easily run $200-300 in fuel alone.)
• Traps
• Batteries
• Trail cameras
• Replacement cameras with newer technology because the old ones get “redecorated”
• Subscriptions for the cellular cameras, which are required for live alerts and add up quickly
• Raccoons who smell the cameras and reposition them like tiny HGTV hosts
• Coyotes who chew on cameras as a form of product durability testing
• Humans who attempted to steal LIVE video cameras, which is objectively hilarious because we were literally watching them try. Spoiler: their heist careers ended instantly.
• And we are actively working to upgrade to a thermal drone — but those things are EXPENSIVE.
Add in trap repairs, drone upkeep, scent lures, tarps, zip ties, emergency supplies, food, and enough rotisserie chicken to start our own poultry-based religion…
And yes — the costs add up fast.
